Plus Size Resort Wear & Tropical Vacation Clothes

Are you headed on a little winter getaway on a tropical island? With the weather reaching well over -10 degrees these days,  everyone is headed somewhere tropical. I have no vacation plans so far, however that won’t stop me from daydreaming. “On vacation, you can wear all the colorful and casual clothing that you like, but you must always be elegant” Christian Dior. I could not agree more with the above statement. Vacation is the time to let loose, but still look chic.

The hardest part of going on vacation is packing ( at least for me).  I always make sure to pack fun, light, bright and colorful dresses,  flip-flops, hats, beach bags, swimsuits, cover-ups, shorts, and of course my confidence! I will write a post on the essentials but today’s post is focused on resort wear.

What to wear on a tropical vacation

Finding plus size resort wear and vacation clothes right now it’s easier than ever. Below you’ll find 2018 resort-worthy options from high-waisted bikinis, palazzo pants, maxi dresses, breezy rompers, to beach bags.  

1.Dresses: Nothing says vacation more than a plus-size white or floral maxi dress. Think about dresses that transition from walk to beach to dinner. If you like to look a little fancier, opt for a midi dress.

2. Romper/Jumpsuit: Plus size Jumpsuits are so comfortable and easy to style. The rompers can be worn on their own or used as cover ups when it’s time to go for lunch.

3.Kaftans: There is something so classy about kaftans. They are great beachwear but this ankle-length garment with long flowing sleeves can be much more than that. When I traveled to Dubai, that’s all I wore. They are super comfy and airy. It’s not easy to find plus size kaftans, so if you need one Etsy is the place to checkout .

4.Palazzo Pants: Wide-leg pants bring the laid-back island vibes anytime. Go for neutrals go for colors such a white, light olive green or tropical prints just like the above.

5. Swimsuit: No need to bring a suitcase full of plus size swimsuits, instead opt to bring swim pieces that can be mixed and matched. I love high-waist bikinis with a retro feel. The one above is so cute!

6.Straw Bags: A straw bag instantly sets a tropical tone whether it be one to keep your towel and knick-knacks or one to wear with your fab vacation outfits.
